Footscray Hockey Club NAIDOC Family Day

We are excited to be hosting our second annual NAIDOC week family day. The event will be held on Bunurong land at Footscray Hockey Club. This year we are celebrating the theme Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! We welcome everyone from our local community down to celebrate the day with us. Mabu Mabu will be joining us with some tasting platters and a presentation about all of the native ingredients that make their food so delicious. Mabu Mabu is a Torres Strait Islander owned and run cafe/restaurant with locations in Yarraville and at Federation Square. If you haven’t already, make sure to check them out! This year we’ll have a ton of arts and crafts activities for the kids. Bunnings West Footscray will be back with an activity for your kids as well as a colouring in station and build your own bee hotel! We welcome back Wildlife XPosure who will be doing their native animal display. We loved to see everyone last year get involved with this activity to celebrate our native fauna. Wurundjeri Willam Elder Ian Hunter will be welcoming us to country and will do a didgeridoo performance as well as a smoking ceremony. There will also be a ton of hockey on the day with our Premier League teams hosting Waverley HC. We hope you will join us on the day to celebrate all things NAIDOC Week!
