Workshop: Painting with Chrissyray Weetra

Join artist Chrissyray Weetra in this special NAIDOC workshop designed to bring people together in the spirit of the NAIDOC 2025 celebrations.

Participants will learn about traditional painting techniques using Chrissyray’s vibrant colour palette while learning about the meaning of cultural symbols. You can then apply your own designs on rocks and Eucalyptus leaves to take home. Every piece will be your own tribute to the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while celebrating connection in the community.

This will be a fun and welcoming workshop suitable for ages 6 and over. You can also see Chrissyray's paintings in the exhibition Strength, Resilience, Connection showing in the Bayley Arts Gallery.

Welcome to NAIDOC.

We acknowledge all First Peoples of the beautiful lands on which we live and celebrate their enduring knowledge and connections to Country. We honour the wisdom of and pay respect to Elders past and present.
