Reflections of trees coming out of the lake
'Water bodies' exhibition

An exhibition of contemporary First Peoples’ works exploring the preciousness of water amid climate change and its impact on Country and culture.

Featuring Nici Cumpston, Mandy Quadrio, Auntie Netty Shaw, Aunty Dyan Summers, Judy Watson and Lisa Waup.

Each artwork shares diverse reflections on water across a variety of mediums, including photography, moving image, weaving, printmaking, sculpture, textiles and new commissions.

Presented across the Kingston Arts Precinct:

Outdoor Lightbox Gallery: 'Attesting II' by Nici Cumpston, presents portraits of trees and significant sites within the backwaters and inland lake systems of the Barka (Murray) River. Available to view 24/7 from 16 June.

G1 and G2 gallery spaces: The indoor galleries present new and varied artworks on water by Mandy Quadrio, Auntie Netty Shaw, Aunty Dyan Summers, Judy Watson, Lisa Waup and Nici Cumpston.

Skybridge: Each evening a video by Judy Watson will light up the Skybridge projection; 'water body' features Aboriginal and scientific histories surrounding the waters of Meanjin (Brisbane).
