Barwon Coast invites the local community and coastal visitors to walk together with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation (WTOAC) to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025 with a special family-friendly event during the school holidays.
Join us at 7.30am on Monday 7 July at the Barwon Heads end of Bukareeyoo (formerly known as 20W) for a sunrise celebration on Wadawurrung Country.
The morning will include a Welcome to Country, didgeridoo performance, and Smoking Ceremony, offering a special opportunity for people of all ages to connect with Wadawurrung Culture and Country, alongside our coastal community.
This year’s NAIDOC Week theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week. It reflects on the achievements and resilience of those who have come before, and uplifts the next generation of First Nations leaders—those with the strength and vision to lead a brighter future.
NAIDOC Week is a time for learning, connection and celebration. Locals and visitors are encouraged to join this meaningful event—an inspiring way to begin the school holidays, together on Country.
