NAIDOC WEEK Hands Art Installations
Council is encouraging schools, kindergartens and community to take part in creating artwork on hands that will form community art displays to celebrate NAIDOC Week. The hands collected from across the shire will be displayed at Cardinia Cultural Centre, Pakenham Library and Emerald Library throughout NAIDOC Week, 2 July to 9 July. The art installations are aimed at raising awareness of the significance of NAIDOC Week and highlighting this year’s theme ‘For Our Elders’ through information displays at each of the sites. NAIDOC art stations can be found at Pakenham and Emerald Libraries until Thursday 29 of June and artwork produced will be included with art by local schools to form the installations. For more information contact Council’s Community Strengthening Team on 1300 787 624
