Join us in celebrating NAIDOC week.
Renata comes guitar in hand with songs and stories to help children learn about caring for country. We learn of all the languages spoken across our vast landscape and have a yarn about colonization and resilience of our First Nations people.
Indigenous stories are designed to help children learn important lessons in life. With visual props and enlarged photos we learn about the history of our First Nations people, how they lived before settlement, and how life has changed for them. We act out stories with dress ups from nature that symbolize our native animal characters, imitate their movements with some fun audience participation.
We also learn a little language, we choose just one of the many, the Yugambeh language, and use it our stories and songs.
