NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to celebrate the significance of our Aboriginal heritage and the important contribution of the Canterbury Bankstown’s Aboriginal population make in our community and across our vibrant City.

The program of events will celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history and heritage; as well as embrace the NAIDOC 2026 theme, 50 Years of Deadly, a homage to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and their ongoing contributions to communities across the country.

Council’s flagship NAIDOC Family Day event will be held at Paul Keating Park Bankstown NSW 2200 and surroundings from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, 4 July 2026. This fun and inclusive event will feature performances from First Peoples artists, workshops, stalls, a free BBQ and more. Come along and enjoy a great day celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, heritage and history!
