The 2026 NAIDOC Poster Competition has now closed

Thanks to everyone for their deadly entries.

We expect the winner will be announced in late March 2026.

Please note that the National NAIDOC Poster Competition is separate from local or regional NAIDOC processes – to find out what’s happening in your area, visit the Local NAIDOC Committee or check their website/social pages for details.

The NAIDOC Local Grants opportunity for 2026 is now open.

The Australian Government proudly supports National NAIDOC Week celebrations and funding through NAIDOC Local Grants. In 2026, up to $3 million is available to support local communities and organisations across Australia celebrate NAIDOC Week from 5 to 12 July 2026.

The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) manages the NAIDOC Local Grants and the application process.

National NAIDOC Week Awards Ceremony

The National NAIDOC Week Awards Ceremony is held in NAIDOC Week each year and recognises the outstanding contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make to improve the lives of people in their communities and beyond, and to promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues in the wider community.

National NAIDOC Week

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.
