SALTWATER HEALING

Saltwater Healing: Art Exhibition

Join us as we celebrate 50 Years of NAIDOC Week through the powerful voices and creativity of Aboriginal women in *Saltwater Healing*, a special community art exhibition presented by Guthrie House Women's Rehabilitation Centre and Mudgin-Gal Aboriginal Women's Centre.

This exhibition showcases a diverse collection of artworks created by Aboriginal women who have used art as a pathway for healing, cultural connection, self-expression, and storytelling. Through painting, mixed media, and contemporary Indigenous art practices, the artists share personal journeys of resilience, strength, identity, and hope.

Saltwater Healing honours the enduring role of art in Aboriginal culture as a means of preserving knowledge, strengthening community, and fostering wellbeing. Visitors are invited to engage with stories that reflect both individual experiences and collective cultural wisdom, while celebrating the achievements, creativity, and leadership of Aboriginal women.

As part of the 2026 NAIDOC Week celebrations, this free public exhibition provides an opportunity for the broader community to connect, learn, and reflect on the significance of healing through culture and the ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Location: Redfern Community Centre

This is a free community event. All are welcome.

Welcome to NAIDOC.
