As NAIDOC Week 2025 approaches, the Northam community is preparing to come together in celebration, reflection, and unity under this year’s powerful theme: “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision, Legacy.”
Hosted at the heart of culture and learning the Bilya Koort Boodja Centre this year’s event promises to be a vibrant and meaningful gathering that honours the past, celebrates the present, and looks boldly toward the future.
A Celebration of Culture and Community
The Northam NAIDOC Week Celebration is a free, family-friendly event that invites everyone, young and old, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal—to share in the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
While the final program is still being confirmed, attendees can look forward to a day filled with:
A traditional cultural ceremony to open the event with respect and spirit
Live performances by talented Nyoongar musicians, showcasing the strength and beauty of local voices
Children’s activities designed to engage and educate through fun and creativity
Delicious food that brings people together over shared stories and flavours
This event is more than a celebration—it’s a space for connection, learning, and pride. It’s a chance to honour the Elders who have paved the way, and to uplift the next generation who carry the vision forward.
Walking Together
NAIDOC Week is a time to reflect on the ongoing journey of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and to recognise the strength that comes from community, culture, and country. In Northam, that spirit is alive and strong.
Everyone is welcome. No bookings are required. Just bring your spirit, your family, and your respect.
Let’s walk together in celebration of the next generation, strong in culture, bold in vision, and proud in legacy.
