Join Koori Kinnections for an engaging 90-minuite program to learn about Aboriginal Culture in and around The Coal Loader What: The program will include 4 components: - Take a guided walk to an ancient Aboriginal rock engraving site - Visit the Bush Tucker garden and learn about traditional and contemporary uses of native plants - Learn about traditional sustainable techniques for gathering resources, through hands-on experiences - A 'hands-on' session to create a message stick to take home  Who: For children 8 years+ their adult(s). All children must have a guardian present at all times Accessibility: All physical abilities are welcome as the site is fully accessible. If you wish to discuss any specific needs or questions before the class please contact the organiser. Where: The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability, 2 Balls Head Drive, Waverton, 2060 Booking essential: Limited places for each group so please only book if you can make it and if you must cancel give as much notice as possible so another family will be able to attend .We cannot take drop-ins on the day and all adult participants must be registered with their own name and contact details. Cost: $0 If the weather is deemed unsuitable, the walk element may be replaced with an indoor activity session. What to bring: BYO a reusable water bottle, adults may want to bring a keep cup for visits to the cafe opposite. Please wear close-toed shoes. Dress for the conditions. All materials for the message stick class are provided but you are welcome to bring additional raffia and other natural weaving fibers from home too if you wish. Please, no plastics.
