NAIDOC Flag Raising Ceremony
National NAIDOC Week is a time for all Australians to celebrate and acknowledge the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The 2024 theme, Keep The Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud, honours the enduring spirit of these communities and calls for solidarity in amplifying their voices.
The City of Wanneroo will host a Flag Raising Ceremony led by local Noongar man Derek Nannup, featuring a Welcome to Country, a speech by Mayor Linda Aitken, and a cultural performance. Refreshments will be provided.
