Come celebrate NAIDOC Week with the Bankstown Library and Knowledge Centre in the reading lounge.
Learn the traditional First Nations art of basket weaving.
Join us for a traditional basket weaving workshop using natural materials, where you’ll create and take home your own coil-style basket. This free session is presented as part of the Canterbury-Bankstown Council and Libraries NAIDOC Week celebrations.
This weaving workshop will be facilitated by Shirley Carr. Shirley recognises her Aboriginality through her ancestral links to the Wiradjuri Nation through her mother’s line. Shirley specialises in language facilitation and translation service, cultural workshops for individuals, small groups or organisations, traditional weaving, Aboriginal art and bush tucker.
