Kingston Weaving Workshop

Come along to Fabrik during NAIDOC week in July to learn traditional First Nations weaving techniques that incorporate contemporarymaterials, language and knowledge with First Nations artists and weavers of the Southeast - Suzy, Sonya and Sarah Smith.

Have a yarn and find out about the Kingston Weaving project, and how you can get involved. Kingston Weaving is an ongoing state-wide sculpture project by the artists and Open Space Contemporary Arts (OSCA), currently taking place at Fabrik and other sites across South Australia. Focusing on the cultural representation of animal totems in connection to the local environment, Kingston Weaving will see the creation of a series of large-scale community created sculptures that will premiere in Kingston, Southeast, South Australia as part of the 2026 Nature Festival.

Welcome to NAIDOC.

We acknowledge all First Peoples of the beautiful lands on which we live and celebrate their enduring knowledge and connections to Country. We honour the wisdom of and pay respect to Elders past and present.
