Katie West: Rockpools

West Space is proud to premiere Rockpools, a new exhibition by Yindjibarndi artist Katie West.

Working from Noongar Ballardong Country in Western Australia, Katie West’s practice is defined by experiments in a ‘custodial ethic’, grounded in the understanding that the health of human society and Country mirror one another.

Realised across photography, installation and sound transmitted via radio, Rockpools examines the entanglement of industry and Aboriginal kinships through the artists' position as a Stolen Generations descendant, reconnecting with Country and practicing custodianship through creative practice.

Showing 5 July to 30 August 2025. Visit Wednesday to Friday, 11am - 6pm, and Saturday, 12 - 4pm. Entry is free, everyone is welcome.

Welcome to NAIDOC.

We acknowledge all First Peoples of the beautiful lands on which we live and celebrate their enduring knowledge and connections to Country. We honour the wisdom of and pay respect to Elders past and present.
