Indigenous Garden Walk with Paul Girrawah House

Join Ngambri-Ngunnawal traditional custodian, Paul Girrawah House, for a fascinating one and a half hour walking tour of the native gardens surrounding Australian Parliament House this NAIDOC Week.   Paul will take audiences on a journey through the Indigenous history of the area and significance of tree carving. The walk includes a close look at the scar trees from which coolamons were cut for the opening of the 47th Parliament.   Plan your visit Our tours depart on time so please arrive 10 minutes beforehand to sign in. The tour will start on the Forecourt mosaic, located at the front of Parliament House. This is a walking tour where participants will make their way through the outside gardens, being on their feet for the duration. You may encounter uneven surfaces and changing weather conditions. We recommend comfortable shoes and dressing to the season. The route is wheelchair accessible. Wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge from the Information Desk in the Marble Foyer.
