Join Cara Kirkwood (Cultural Strategist and Creative Producer for the SaVĀge K’lub Te Paepae Aora’i – Where the Gods Cannot be Fooled) (Mandandanji/Mithaka peoples) for a talk focused on First Nations leadership.
Cara will speak on methodologies for community decision making and collective leadership in the cultural sector, as well as the importance of transnational First Nations collaboration. She will discuss her work with the SaVĀge K’lub Te Paepae Aora’i – Where the Gods Cannot be Fooled, a multi-disciplinary vehicle to explore ideas of hospitality, culture and identity.
NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This year’s NAIDOC Week is centred around the theme ‘Keep the fire burning! Blak, loud and proud!’ and runs from 7 – 14 July 2024.
