Because of these women, I can! Ngarra Murray NAIDOC Committee member, comes from a long line of strong black Yorta Yorta (Wallithica) women.

Growing up in Victoria, Ngarra’s two grandmothers and Aunty have been a big influence on her life and the backbone of her family. Aunty Pam was Miss NAIDOC 1962, and her Grandmother Nora was part of the Cummeragunja Mission walk-off in 1939.

Ngarra currently works at Oxfam Australia in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples' Program as the National Manager and is a Board Member of a foundation named after her grandparents, the Pastor Sir Douglas and Lady Gladys Nicholls Foundation and a passionate artist involved in numerous cultural heritage and arts projects in her community.

Welcome to NAIDOC.
