The National NAIDOC Committee and Kmart Group are proud to announce that the Kmart Group has been appointed the Official National NAIDOC Week Poster Distribution Partner for 2023.

This partnership will see National NAIDOC Week Posters distributed by over 100 Kmart, K hub and Target stores across the Country from early June 2023. Kmart and Target will display the posters at select stores and provide them to customers free of charge. This year, where possible, customers will be able to access the posters from the front of the store.

On behalf of the National NAIDOC Committee, Co-Chairs, Dr Lynette Riley and Steven Satour, warmly welcome the partnership with the Kmart Group.

“We are so pleased to be working with the Kmart Group as our official poster distribution partners. Each year, Kmart Group work with their communities to create the most amazing front window displays that really celebrate NAIDOC Week” Mr Satour said.

“The Kmart Group has shown a genuine commitment to working in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and we cannot wait to see the National NAIDOC Week poster in select Kmart and Target stores” said Dr Lynette Riley.

This year’s National NAIDOC Week Poster features artwork by Ngarluma, Kariyarra, Nyulnyul and Yawuru artist Bobbi Lockyer. Titled ‘For Our Elders’, Ms Lockyer’s artwork is a heart-warming piece that pays tribute to our Elders, and honours their importance and the integral role they play in our community’s lives.

Kmart Group Managing Director Ian Bailey says, “At Kmart and Target we have been on a journey towards ensuring our stores and offices are a culturally safe and trusted place for First Nations community and team members. NAIDOC Week provides such a great opportunity each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples with our communities and team members, and we are humbled to be the Official NAIDOC Week Poster Distribution Partner. The team are so excited to be sharing the artwork from Bobbi Lockyer and the NAIDOC Committee and playing a small role in the celebrations, and we look forward to continuing to be guided in our actions through meaningful partnerships like this one as we all move forward towards reconciliation.”
