Statement by the National NAIDOC Committee

A National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony will not be held this year.

The National NAIDOC Committee had hoped to be in a position towards the end of the year to host a in person gala ceremony but with on-going travel uncertainty - planning for an event of this magnitude was not possible.

The 2021 National NAIDOC Award winners will now be announced online and in conjunction with our media partners and key stakeholders.

This year’s winners will be announced on Wednesday 1 December.

The National NAIDOC Awards acknowledge the outstanding contributions and excellence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across ten award categories covering fields of art, education and training, sport, environment and leadership.

We’ll soon regroup with all our key stakeholders to commence work towards the 2022 Awards Ceremony, hopefully well clear of COVID-19 issues and one that be a return to our gala National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony.

The 2022 NAIDOC Theme and 2022 focus city will be announced in December.

Welcome to NAIDOC.
