Because of her, we can! Anne Martin a Yuin woman and NAIDOC Committee Co-Chair talks about her mother, her greatest inspiration. Because of her mother, Anne went to university, was able to raise her 5 children and now looks back on her journey to becoming Director of the Tjabal Indigenous Higher Education Centre at The Australian National University.

 

About Anne 
Born in La Perouse in Sydney, Anne is a descendant of the Yuin people of the South Coast of NSW. A mother to six and grandmother to 14, Anne joined the National NAIDOC Committee in 2006 and has been Co-Chair since 2009.

During her career, Anne studied at Charles Darwin University and has held a range of senior positions across the public and private sector, with a particular focus on education.
