Uncle Charles ‘Chicka’ Madden is a respected elder from Gadigal Country where he has committed his life to the service of his local community and contributed significantly to the cultural life of Sydney.
In Redfern, Chicka met his wife Lily and they have 4 children, 11 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Chicka is an artist, and past board member of health, housing and land council community organisations, and is a lifelong member of Redfern All Blacks football team. Today Chicka continues to be an passionate ambassador and advocate for his culture, community and Country, nationally and internationally.
