Southern Aboriginal Corporation
Southern Aboriginal Corporation (SAC) is a Noongar-led organisation founded on the principle that caring for Country and caring for people are inseparable. For decades, SAC has protected cultural knowledge, strengthened connection to land, and ensured Noongar identity remains visible and respected across regional Western Australia.
Through partnerships such as Walitj Mia Mia and Nowanup, SAC delivers on-Country cultural camps where young people learn cultural practices, leadership, and responsibility directly from Elders. These programs build identity, pride, and future custodianship while integrating practical caring-for-Country activities, including environmental rehabilitation and heritage restoration.
SAC also plays a key role in preserving culturally significant sites, including the Marribank/Carrolup precinct, safeguarding history and truth for future generations. Its Noongar Cultural Framework embeds cultural authority into services, ensuring community-led design across housing, legal, and family programs.
By linking cultural knowledge with employment pathways and land stewardship, SAC strengthens community resilience, self-determination, and long-term sustainability—demonstrating that solutions grounded in culture and Country deliver enduring outcomes.
