Aunty Ellen Trevorrow

Aunty Ellen Trevorrow is a revered Senior Ngarrindjeri Elder, born in 1955 at Raukkan. Establishing Camp Coorong, a Cultural education centre with her late husband Tom Trevorrow in the early 80’s she has dedicated her life to preserving and teaching Ngarrindjeri Culture.
As a cultural weaver with over four decades of experience, she carries on the legacy of generations, learning from her grandmother and Aunty Dorrie Kartinyeri. Aunty Ellen's powerful work, often recognised internationally, is displayed in prestigious institutions.
Beyond her artistry, she is a dedicated educator and published author, actively building bridges between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. She shares Ngarrindjeri weaving and storytelling knowledge, fostering social inclusion and connecting people with the world's oldest living culture, bringing immense pride to her community.
