The word 'Us' in a simple white font on a pale pink background.
Us. An exhibition by Rosie Kalina.
'Us' explores the relationship First Nations women & non-binary people have with their bodies, in light of experiencing misogyny. Our very existence is policed, scrutinised and fetishised. Racism, fat phobia, and slut shaming have deep impacts on the body and spirit. Despite this we have seen many First Nations women utilise platforms as a means of self expression in a powerful way, coinciding with the rise of social media. In 'Us' you will see a reflection of this, through a series of self portraits of these women in all of their beauty, autonomy and sovereignty. Warning: Contains some nudity, moderate coarse language, potentially triggering content or themes, including sexual references.
