Honouring Warrior Woman - Lisa Bellear
This NAIDOC week you are invited to visit Warrior Woman Lane from Sunday 8 November to celebrate the life of Lisa Bellear. Lisa Bellear is a Minjungbul, Goernpil, Noonuccal and South Sea Islander woman from Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island, Queensland), and was born in Naarm (Melbourne), where she became a loved member of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. She was a prolific activist, photographer, broadcaster, poet, feminist, politician, comedian, academic and performer. Lisa identified NAIDOC as the most proud, fun and magical week of community pride.
