The National NAIDOC Awards are an opportunity to recognise the outstanding contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians make to improve the lives of Indigenous people, promote issues in the wider community, or the excellence they have shown in their chosen field.
The National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony is the premier event on the National Indigenous calendar and in 2017 will launch NAIDOC Week across the country.
Award winners will be announced at the National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony on Saturday 1 July 2017 at the Cairns Convention Centre.
This year’s National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony is a Black Tie event and comprises a three course meal with limited wine, beer and soft drink available throughout the evening. A cash bar will be available for the purchase of beverages. No beverage sales will be made during formal proceedings.
Doors open at 6.00pm and the event will conclude at midnight.
