Tauto Sansbury

Tauto was born at Point Pearce, on the west coast of South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula. He has 27 years experience in the area of law and justice and worked as an Aboriginal Justice Liaison Officer before being elected Chairperson of the Patpa Warra Yunti Regional Council. He was State Chairperson of the Aboriginal the Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committee for nine years and served seven years as the National Chairperson.

In 1996 Tauto received both State and national NAIDOC awards, and in 2003 he was awarded a Centenary Medal in recognition of his work with the State and National Aboriginal Justice Advisory Committees.
